Renowned physiotherapist and researcher Prof. Dr. Vincenzo Giovanni Ferrara is the author of the professional monograph Physical Modalities in Physiotherapy – Clinical Strategies and operational protocols, which presents a modern, scientifically grounded approach to the use of physical energies in rehabilitation and clinical practice.
The monograph provides an in-depth discussion of the effects of light, sound, and electrical energy on biological processes in the human body and explains the mechanisms through which physical therapies promote homeostasis, regeneration, and functional recovery. In a clear and systematic manner, the author connects foundational knowledge of cell biology, morphology, and physiology with the practical use of modern electromedical technologies.
A particular value of the book is its strong clinical orientation. It offers the reader not only descriptions of therapeutic techniques, but also an in-depth explanation of how they work, along with concrete operational protocols that can be applied directly in everyday clinical practice. Case studies, structured work procedures, and clear guidelines enable the safe, effective, and targeted use of physical modalities.
This professional monograph is intended for physiotherapists, physicians, podiatrists, occupational therapists, chiropractors, and other healthcare professionals who wish to expand their knowledge in the field of electrotherapy and instrumental physiotherapy. It is suitable both for experienced clinical practitioners and for professionals at the beginning of their careers, as it enables an in-depth understanding not only of how, but above all why a particular therapy works.
