Prospective Teacher Inquiry

At Alma Mater, we are committed to fostering an academic environment that promotes both teaching excellence and practical experience. As we continue expanding our programs to meet the evolving needs of students and the job market, we welcome applications from qualified and dedicated professionals to join our faculty.

To be considered for a teaching or professorial appointment, send your CV and a list of publications to vienna@almamater.at. Unfortunately, we are unable to respond to all inquiries.

Teaching Position Appointment

Alma Mater only appoints those to teaching positions who have been pre-approved and invited. If you have not been invited, please follow the instructions under Prospective Teacher Inquiry.

In line with national NAKVIS guidelines, lecturers may be appointed to one of the following positions: Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Teaching Assistant, Assistant Professor/Dozent, Associate Professor, or Full Professor. Please review the NAKVIS guidelines and university documents for the specific requirements of each position.

The appointment process includes a thorough review of the candidate’s academic qualifications, professional experience, and research contributions. Applications are first evaluated by the Habilitation Committee, which reviews the applicant’s CV, publications, teaching experience, and other credentials. The Senate then appoints three independent evaluators, some from other universities, who assess the candidate according to NAKVIS standards, prepare separate evaluation reports, and submit recommendations to the university Senate for final approval. The entire process usually takes about three months from submission to formal appointment.

The process is simplified for individuals already appointed at other universities.

We prefer receiving all documents in one multi-page PDF. Do not send articles, books, or other publications unless requested.

Please fill the Teaching Position Appointment form, You will be asked to provide your contact data and attach CV, Photo ID, and copies of your diplomas or degree certificates.

Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by our academic and administrative team. For further assistance, contact vienna@almamater.at

Propose a new Research Center, Institute, or Study Program

We welcome proposals for establishing new study programs or research centers. If you have a strong idea, have developed a proposal, and wish Alma Mater to be its home, let us know.

We consider proposals that are academically sound, timely, and financially viable.

Institutes are typically smaller in scope, focusing on specialized areas of research or academic inquiry, often involving a limited number of  faculty members and students. Research centers, on the other hand, are larger entities that encompass broader research themes and often involve interdisciplinary collaboration, full time employees, and a higher level of funding and resources.

We welcome proposals for promising PhD, Master’s, and Bachelor’s programs. All proposals need to be reviewed and accredited by an accreditation body from an EU member state, and the process usually takes 12–18 months.

Email your proposal together with your CV in PDF to research@almamater.at

You may either use your own structure or use this template (LINK).
